Job Description
Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMTA/EMTP) Patient Care Specialist
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMTA/EMTP) where youll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care in a fastpaced hospital environment. This position offers the perfect blend of emergency medical expertise and direct patient care allowing you to utilize your advanced medical training while working alongside licensed practitioners and registered nurses.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver highquality direct patient care under supervision of licensed practitioners
- Perform advanced medical procedures and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
- Execute critical patient transport operations following strict safety protocols
- Assist with activities of daily living and provide comfort care to patients
- Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment inventory
- Document patient care data and maintain accurate medical records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Required Qualifications:
- Current Virginia State certification as EMTAdvanced EMTIntermediate or EMTParamedic
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current AHA BLSHCP and ACLS certifications
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and transport
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree in paramedic studies or related field
- National Registry EMT certification
- One year EMTAdvanced EMTIntermediate or Paramedic experience
- PALS PHTLS/BTLS and Hazmat Awareness certifications
