Job Description
Produce quality content. Work on techs hottest research. Amplify the CBI voice.
CB Insights is seeking a detailoriented and motivated Associate Editor to help shape our datadriven research. You will join our Research team which is composed of editors and analysts leveraging CB Insights data and data science products to identify key trends in the world of emerging technology.
The role youll play:
Youll work with a dedicated team of editors ensuring that each piece of research the company produces is insightful accurate and digestible. In addition to providing an editorial lens you will also be responsible for helping write our publicfacing reports that uncover new trends and novel frameworks for thinking about the tech ecosystem.
Central to the role is understanding CB Insights data our proprietary data science products and our Strategy Workstation to surface key technology and investment trends. You will also help our Research team build compelling visualizations that tell a story with our proprietary data.
About the Research team:

Our editors and analysts come from backgrounds as diverse as equity research journalism consulting investment banking VC and more. As you grow you will have the opportunity to work across all types of research collaborate on crossteam projects and learn all about new technologys impact on key markets and industries.
Your main tasks:
- Line edit copy edit and factcheck dataheavy research briefs reports and decks
- Collaborate with industry analysts to level up report outlines and presentations
- Write for and help produce our newsletter which reaches 250K readers
- Design infographics and visualizations that tell a compelling story using our data
- Update highperforming reports as needed
What you bring to the table:
- 2 years of relevant editing and/or online publishing experience preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Solid grasp of numbers and data and a zeal for accuracy
- Keen interest in data storytelling both written and visual
- Knowledge of/interest in venture capital startup ecosystem or technology a huge plus
- A superior ability to work under tight deadlines
- Solid project management and communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative dynamic and fastchanging environment
- Willingness to pitch in on all tasks and roll with changing priorities
- Strong opinions about the Oxford comma
- BA/BS required

Please note this is a USbased role.
In addition to base salary this role is also eligible for a bonus opportunity.
A little bit about our pay practices: Typically we will hire at our Hiring Target but actual starting pay may be based on several factors including but not limited to market rate the qualified pool of candidates internal compensation candidate experience and budgetary constraints.
