Job Description

Job Summary:

The Data Management Coordinator (DMC) provides realtime front room support for timeline and troubleshooting of the onboard video and data systems. Assignments tend to me of moderate complexity diversification or expense. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined. Normally receives instruction on new projects or assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Responsible for managing the onboard International Space Station (ISS) data video and network systems in the capture and downlink of various types of scientific and operational data that is generated during realtime payload operations.
  • Knowledgeable in communications networks and command systems and is responsible for maintaining an indepth knowledge of the ISS onboard data video and network systems that are configured monitored and managed to support realtime science payload operations.
  • DMC team supports realtime operations seven days a week twentyfour hours per day.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree (B.S. from fouryear college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of ISS ops a plus.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents logarithms quadratic equations and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution determination of test reliability and validity analysis of variance correlation techniques sampling theory and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully an individual should have the ability to use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program write software set up functions enter data or process information.

Other Essential Duties

  • Follows all import/export requirements consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.

Other Qualifications

  • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
