You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis position ensures that all utilities essential for normal daily hospital operations patient care and comfort are provided safely efficiently and without interruption. Position provides 24hour response to alarms of building monitoring system. Utilities include steam for heating and sterilization chilled water for climate control and normal and emergency electricity.
Ensures Power Plant is providing utilities effectively for normal hospital operations.
Performs code inspections repairs and preventative and emergency maintenance on all operating systems and their support auxiliaries.
Performs detailed logged inspection rounds on all operating and nonoperating systems in the Power Plant and other assigned sites.
Documents shift events and conditions in daily log book.
Provides 24hour response to alarms of building monitoring system.
Monitors computerized energy management system.
Uses tools and equipment appropriately. Knows when and how to use tools and equipment to perform the job in an efficient effective and safe manner. Consistently uses tools and equipment correctly on the job.
Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment. Adheres to all safety policies procedures and practices including the wearing of protective clothing and gear.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be required in order to communicate with vendors guests hospital staff management coworkers and all other persons associated directly or indirectly with Corewell Health.
The wide variety and ages of the equipment offer a very challenging and complex environment. The job requires moderate autonomous decisionmaking.
Assignments are received in the form of results expected due dates and general procedures to be followed.
The job requires regular operation of standard office equipment and ability to perform computer data entry.
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
City of Detroit or Dearborn High Pressure Boiler Operator License 1st Class Refrigeration Operator license or Stationary Engineer Journeyman card with Industrial Refrigeration experience
Minimum of 3 years of jobrelated experience after attainment of licenses
Preferred
5B Biocide ApplicatorMichigan Department of Agriculture.
Confined Space Entrant/Supervisor.
Course work at technical/vocational school in high pressure steam operation and refrigeration operation.
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
