SALARY RANGE: $39846.00 $46872.00 Annually
EDUCATION ACCREDITATION:Applicants education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Education credentials obtained out of the US must be evaluated for US equivalency. Evaluation agencies information may be obtained at www.naces.
ELIGIBILITY:Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK:Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to this position identified as positions of trust will be required to authorize the release of and successfully complete a Fingerprint check.
PROBATION:All persons including current City employees selected from thisposition will be on probation for 6 months.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
A Loan Processor reviews applications for grant and loan programs checking for completeness and accuracy and determining eligibility based on established criteria. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
SELECTION PROCESS
All candidates indicating the minimum qualifications on their applications will be placed on the eligible list without further examination.The training and experience of each candidate will be evaluated for appropriateness and quantity.It is essential therefore that you give complete and accurate information on your application. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
On or before the date of filing the application each candidate must:
EDUCATION:Have a high school diploma or GED certification.
AND
EXPERIENCE:Have two 2 years of experience processing loan applications.
OR
EQUIVALENCIES: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES:
Have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial drivers license or equivalent and eligibility to obtain a Baltimore City drivers permit.
KNOWLEDGES SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledge of basic arithmetic skills
Knowledge of basic grammar and writing skills.
Ability to obtains and analyze facts relative to making judgments concerning eligibility status.
Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations and to use a tenkey calculator with accuracy.
Ability to establish and retrieve records from filing systems alphabetically numerically or by subject or following some other readily learned procedure.
Ability to understand and follow simple written or oral instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to deal courteously with employees at all levels of government and to work effectively with varying temperaments both in person and by telephone.
EXAMINATION PROCESS
