Summary
The Ecological Consultant role is responsible for assessing mitigating and providing recommendations regarding the environmental impacts of engineering projects. The ideal candidate is a reliable trustworthy individual who thrives in a fastpaced environment where collaboration and autonomy are valued.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proficiently operates a computer
Ability to function in a highstress environment be a strong multitasker and be a team player
Answers client questions and assists them promptly
Knowledge and usage of proper format grammar spelling and punctuation
Conducts fieldwork in the role of Applied Ecologist producing wetland delineations imperiled species investigations protected tree inventories and FNAI plant community identification and mapping
Utilizes ArcMap to generate highquality maps sketches and other graphics for technical reports and environmental permit applications
Ability to understand and effectively communicate complex ecological and regulatory concepts to both subject matter experts and the general public
Utilizes Tremble GNSS equipment generate manage and manipulate spatial data
Ability to create reports based on the information gathered
Regular attendance is required.
Follows safety procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Valid Florida Drivers License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Drivers License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria) may or may not be required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role
Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Floridas Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)
Proficiency in wetland delineation with demonstrable experience
Demonstrate a strong understanding of sediment biogeochemistry and wetland hydrology
Bachelors degree in environmental Biology Forestry or related field
Proficiency with ArcMap Tremble GPS
Ability to read and write including interpreting documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with colleagues supervisors and customers/clients
Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop including sending and receiving emails
Mathematical skills sufficient to add subtract multiply and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral and diagram form
Preferred Qualifications:
35 years of experience in the same or related field
Masters degree in Biology or related field
Professional certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist ISA Arborist Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner Gopher tortoise agent etc.
Previous experience in an A/E/C firm
Physical Demands & Work Environment :
Lifting and/or occasionally moving up to thirtyfive pounds can be expected with or without reasonable accommodation.
Required to drive stand walk use hands to type handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; talk and hear. Body motions and movements include bending twisting reaching stooping pulling kneeling lifting carrying and pushing with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment and in the field.
Fieldwork may involve exposure to various environmental conditions including outdoor work in different weather conditions and potentially remote or challenging locations
