Job Description
Schedule/Shift:Minimum of 5 shifts per month including at least 2 weekend shifts and 2 holidays per year.
Hours: 6:30am 7:00pm or 6:30pm 7:00am
Location:Kresge Health & Rehab Center Chelsea Retirement Community
Overview:
TheCertified Nurse Aide (CNA)in our skilled nursing community will play a vital role in providing compassionate nursing centered care to our residents. Certified Nurse Aides will provide daily living activities ensure residents comfort and support their overall wellbeing in a supportive environment.
What youll do:
Assist residents in the following areas:
- Personal care functions include bathing skin care toileting grooming oral hygiene and dressing
- Feeding residents
- Turning and positioning residents
- Measuring and recording intake and output
- Weighing residents
- Proper transfer techniques
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment
- Keep residents rooms clean and supplied
- Make and change beds
- Answer call lights and take appropriate action
- Collect and label specimens (urine stool sputum)
- Measure and record vital signs weights and report variations in vital signs to the nurse
- Immediately report any changes in residents condition or incidents to the nurse
- Participate in care conferences with other members of the team as appropriate
- Maintains confidentiality in relation to all residents healthcare staff and documentation in accordance with policy and state regulations
- Maintains and enhances skills through attending appropriate training
- Appearance is professional and complies with the dress code
- Maintains a cooperative manner towards residents families and all members of the health care team.
what it takes:
- Must have a current and valid Michigan Certification for Nursing Assistants
- Experience providing direct care to the elderly preferred but not required
- Ability to read write understand and carry out directions
- Ability to perform job related duties which may require lifting standing bending transferring stooping stretching walking pushing and pulling
