Supervises plans organizes and coordinates activities of law enforcement/public safety officers for the College; directs personnel in the enforcement of criminal laws education and crime prevention; partners with the community; manages and coordinates investigative resources as a function of case management; trains assigned personnel; and responds to service calls and citizen complaints.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
EDUCATION: Associates degree or 60 college credits and/or demonstrated knowledge skills and abilities.
EXPERIENCE: Three 3 years of experience in law enforcement
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Background Verification: As a condition of employment all candidates accepting an offer of employment for a fulltime part time temporary student worker or volunteer position will be required to undergo a Background Verification. Employment with Central Arizona College is contingent upon the successful completion of the background verification. The level the background verification for this position is: Standard Level

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The work is very heavy work. The employee is constantly required to move objects applying up to 20 pounds of force; frequently required to apply 50 pounds of force to move objects; and occasionally required to exert up to 100 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally the following physical abilities are required:balancing climbing crawling crouching feeling fingering grasping handling hearing voices and distinguishing among sounds kneeling lifting mental acuity pulling pushing reaching repetitive motion speaking standing stooping talking and shouting visual acuity in data/color/observations/operating equipment/inspecting and walking.The incumbent in this position may need to exert physical strength in the restraint of individuals and may experience a combative interaction with an individual.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed part of the time working in an environment where errors on this job can lead to significant physical or mental consequences for self or others. While performing the duties of this position the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions/fumes or airborne particles/toxic or caustic chemicals; is regularly exposed to motorized vehicles; experiences noise levels for work environment ranging from moderate to loud; and may be exposed to situations that could result in personal injury.

This is a pension system that requires mandatory contributions from the employee with a matching contribution from the employer. The 2425 fiscal year contribution rate is 12.27.
