Job Summary
A Certified Transmission Technician inspects maintains and repairs vehicles. Technician will perform vehicle service and repair work as assigned in accordance with dealership and factory standards. The Certified Ford Technician is responsible for maintaining the requisite technical knowledge and skill to efficiently and accurately repair vehicles.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Perform work outlined on repair orders prepared by the Service Advisor in an efficient and accurate manner adhering to our dealership standards and procedures.
- Keep the Service Advisor informed of the repair orders status and the estimated time for its completion so that customers can be informed
- Perform repair maintenance and warranty work in a timely fashion. Roadtest to confirm problems were resolved and the vehicles operation will meet or exceed customer expectations. Ensure customers vehicle is left in a clean and undamaged state.
- Maintain an organized and neat workstation
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast of rapidly changing automotive technology.
- Maintain value quality and integrity
- Report to work within acceptable time frames and company standards.
- Maintain appropriate degree of professionalism towards customers and coworkers.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 24 years technician experience/training
- ASE certification preferred
- Ford Transmission Certified Required
- Basic computer & phone skills (Internet MS Outlook)
- Experience with automotive software preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals.
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Selfmotivated goal oriented and ability to work within a fastpaced environment
- Strong Teamwork Skills
- Must be able to lift items up to 5075 lbs.
- Current valid drivers license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
