Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Changes has a mandate to protect the environment and human health through regulatory excellence conservation partnership and promotion.The department works to support a clean and healthy environment in Nova Scotia advance a clean economy addressing the climate crisis and guide the province towards a sustainable and clean future where all Nova Scotians can thrive.
The Climate Change Divisions Adaptation Team helps communities businesses and other levels of government understand and respond to the impacts of climate change on communities the economy ecosystems and infrastructure through research education capacity building planning and partnerships.
You will support the Research and Knowledge Mobilization team in activities to strengthen our understanding of climate risk and adaptation in the province. This includes but is not limited to conducting background research and literature reviews supporting evaluation activities and assisting with data management and geospatial projects (i.e. GIS).
To be eligible for this position you must currently be enrolled fulltime in an Environmental Sciences or Studies Planning or other relevant postsecondary concentration and returning to school in Fall 2025. College or universitylevel training and/or coursework in GIS is required with project experience considered an asset.
Knowledge of climate risk assessments and adaptation approaches is considered an asset as is familiarity with equity in relation to climate change impacts.

Salary Range: $20.09 $29.69Hourly
