We now have an exciting opportunity for a Product Development Engineer at our Sydney office.
About the Role
The Product Development Engineer role will be responsible for providing an innovative approach in the development of food packaging and processing machinery and systems while ensuring optimum customer service and satisfaction.
This role will be reporting to the Product Development Manager and will be based in the Sydney Olympic Park office Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop machinery to meet performance along with operational and cost specifications.
- The development includes assembly commissioning testing & ongoing refinement
- Generate designs and drawings that are of optimum quality. Consider all upstream and downstream effects on the business internal customers and end users
- Continually identify implement monitor and update processes & practices to ensure a high standard of consistency with design philosophies
- Manage design projects ensuring all milestones are met as per the schedule
- Assist with and provide high level support to the customer and the team.
- Work closely with all departments ensuring you are a key team member in transitioning new designs through documentation prototyping timely production and testing.
- Liaise with and establish excellent relationships with customers colleagues suppliers and internal departments
Desired Knowledge Skills and Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years design experience with some autonomy in special purpose machine design or manufacturing related field
- Experience with 2D CAD and 3D modelling systems
- Exposure to the food and packaging industry is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes structural design and materials handling.
- Ability to produce documentation of a level suitable for manufacturing & installation personnel
- Logical pragmatic and able to think outside the square
- Excellent communication and problemsolving skills
- Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
