Inspired by love and brought to reality through passion and determination The Helper Bees was founded to empower older adult citizens and their families in their search for quality affordable inhome care providers. We do this by providing older adults the ability to easily review choose and access affordable quality inhome helpers.

Job Summary:
As a Senior Software Engineer you will help establish and evolve frontend patterns that enable our growing team to deliver value rapidly and reliably. We maintain multiple SaaS products through our web applications (internal and external facing) a mobile app and reporting integrations. At The Helper Bees you will guide technical decisions mentor others and help establish practices that enable teams to iterate quickly and deliver meaningful impact.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead frontend architecture decisions through collaboration and establish strong defaults that enable team success
- Guide the evolution of our React and React Native codebases with a focus on:
- Patterns that enable rapid iteration
- Practices that reduce cycle time
- Defaults that make the right thing easy
- Establish and evangelize practices for quality testable and maintainable code while balancing speed and sustainability
- Lead systematic approaches to debugging and problemsolving that help the whole team become more effective
- Drive improvements in development flow through:
- Optimizing deployment processes
- Reducing batch sizes
- Establishing feedback loops
- Improving system observability
- Guide technical decisionmaking by:
- Breaking down complex problems
- Facilitating tradeoff discussions
- Helping teams understand cost of delay
- Ensuring decisions enable rapid iteration
- Grow team capabilities through:
- Active mentorship and knowledge sharing
- Establishing learning opportunities in daily work
- Creating strong technical defaults
- Leading by example in technical practices

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to establish and evolve technical defaults
- Experience optimizing development workflows

- You thrive in working in a fast pace startup environment

- Must be 18 years of age or older
Education and Experience:
- An understanding of best software development practices patterns and architecture
- An understanding of modern frontend and React best practices patterns and architecture
- Experience submitting apps to both Apples App Store and the Google Play Store
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Experience with the following (or equivalents):
- JavaScript
- TypeScript
- React
- React Native
- Webpack
- Redux
- Cypress
- Jest
- MaterialUI
- Bonus points if you have experience with:
- ReactAdmin
- Expo
- Django Rest Framework
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain at your designated workstation for the duration of the workday
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a phone and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to observe details at close range (typically on a computer screen)
