This position would be aligned with any of these offices: Orlando FL Fairview Heights IL Dayton OH Chicago IL New York NY and would support fulltime inperson or hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading engineering projects supporting strategic and KPI goals contributing to proposals overseeing project scope schedule and fee and ensuring effective resources are assigned to projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills technical expertise and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This role includes performing electrical engineering technical work on complex projects mentoring staff applying proficiency in designing analyzing and reviewing MEP systems to ensure safety sustainability and compliance with industry standards. Essential Functions

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Woolpert you will:

  • Lead electrical engineering technical work for complex projects.
  • Track project progress including scope schedule and fee.
  • Oversee technical review and provide high quality deliverables.
  • Develop and modify models plans details and drawings of electrical engineering systems and components according to established standards and modeling techniques.
  • Perform electrical design for various systems including mediumvoltage distribution microgrids photovoltaic battery systems building power systems lighting design and low voltage systems.
  • Perform electrical calculations including SKM analysis arc flash and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools preferred).
  • Support career development and technical skill advancement of team members.

  • Conduct training sessions for internal employees when necessary.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS or MA/MS in related field and fifteen 15 years related experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
  • Minimum of five 5 years of experience leading engineering projects.
  • Experience in building power systems lighting design mediumvoltage distribution SKM analysis and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools preferred).
  • Experience with aviation commercial mixeduse hospitality highrise industrial and Federal design preferred.
  • Experience designing sustainable building systems including familiarity with LEED Green Building Institute or other sustainability credentialing.
  • Excellent presentation interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Expert verbal and written communication abilities for both internal and external relationships.
  • Experience with discipline related software applications and calculation tools.
  • Substantial experience designing in Autodesk Revit 3D modeling software and directing the preparation of construction documents.
  • Experience conducting and leading QAQC and coordination of design documents between disciplines.
  • Ability to read analyze and interpret complex documents including scientific and technical journals handbooks and industry information.
  • Proficient in use of MS Teams OneDrive/SharePoint and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to provide effective responses to sensitive inquiries from clients regulatory agencies and/or members of the business community.
  • Able to write technical opinions articles and thought leadership social media using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.
  • Willing to travel to project sites or offices as needed.
