Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager Purchasing and Supply Chain the Jr. Buyer will support approved purchasing projects in a fast paced environment. In this role the individual will ensure timely availability of goods which includes but is not limited to supporting in the coordination of purchases and trials placing orders expediting orders reporting resolving back orders and working with Vendors and Clinical Educators on substitutions. This role will have a strong working relationship with all Hospital Departments. In addition this role will provide direct support to the Buyers in contract related activities as required and/or to the overall department as required to support the daily operations. The Jr. Buyer is responsible for requisitions contract management AP exceptions and balancing workload to meet time sensitive deadlines and inventory material master data updates as required. Strong organizational skills are required. This role must understand and drive procurement processes compliant with the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive to ensure that CMH publicly funded goods services including construction consulting services and Information Technology are acquired through a process that is Open Fair and Transparent.

The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to prolonged sitting standing walking bending lifting pushing and pulling. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients staff and visitors.
