40Summary:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Applying analytical and technical skills to support the design analysis and implementation of pharmacy information systems and their related applications that assist clinicians in delivering patient care. Serves as a resource to the customers throughout Cook Childrens Healthcare System to produce desired health outcomes related to medications prescribed prepared and dispensed through the electronic health record. The Epic Pharmacy Informatics Specialist uses clinical pharmacy knowledge to recommend develop and implement pharmacy workflows and other clinical decision support tools within the electronic health record. Provides leadership and support for pharmacy application systems analysts.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required from an accredited school of pharmacy.
At least 3 years of experience in healthcare pharmacy operations.
Extensive understanding of pharmacy workflows.
At least 2 years of experience in healthcare information technology or completion of pharmacy informatics residency preferred.
Experience in pediatric pharmacy practice with stateoftheart unit dose drug distribution system preferred.
Willow Inpatient certification highly preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Registered pharmacist with Texas licensure (or eligible) required.
Epic certification is required within 6 months from employment including 2 test retakes.
