What were looking for
The Senior Project Engineer will be required to lead the project team by applying a teamwork approach whilst taking the lead in technical matters. The Senior Project Engineer will have a dottedline responsibility for the day engineer.
Authority to proceed with installation costs of up to 1000 provided this is within the specified budget for the project as a whole. For authorised capital contracts up to 20000 the Job holder has the authority to choose preferred contractors.
Your responsibilities will include...
As Senior Project Engineer your responsibilities will include;
As directed to ensure that the site plant buildings and process operations meet the current andfuture needs of the business and that their technical effectiveness and reliability is continuallyimproved.
To support the Project Engineering Manager in the generation of a 5year capital plan and lead the capital projects from conception through to completion.
To lead the Continuous Improvement and Efficiencybased process projects through the site.
To ensure that environmental aspects across the site are monitored and controlled in line with thebusiness objectives and environmental legislation whilst continually reducing energy consumptionand carbon emission outputs.
- To ensure that from initial brief capital proposals are prepared and are purchased installed and commissioned within the agreed capital authorisation and success criteria using the latest technology and planning techniques.
- To lead Project Teams as directed on authorised major capital expenditure projects and ensure that they are successfully completed within the constraints imposed by the board.
- As directed to carry out feasibility studies or proposed projects including budget costing of any possible capital spend and effectively communicate the results.
- To provide advice to operations staff where necessary on any technical problems relating to existing processing/packaging plant.
- To study analyse monitor and report on environmental legislation and regulations that may have an impact on the site recommending courses of action retaining the Pollution Prevention & Control (PPC) permits within the legislative timetable. This requires emissions discharges waste and other environmental impacts to be monitored and controlled on an ongoing basis.
- To assist the factory to maintain an externally certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
What youll bring...
The successful candidate will have;
- Educated to degree level with at least 5 years experience within a FMCG environment.
- Job Holder needs to be creative innovative well motivated selfstarter with an analytical approach to problem solving. The ability to successfully complete work is essential. Must be of practical mind with a hands on approach.
- The job holder should have the appropriate skill to undertake the effective training of engineers
- The jobholder would be expected to have knowledge of the following quality systems ISO9001
- ISO14001 BS25999 and BRC.
- Advanced computing ability required to allow planning budget control and latest AutoCAD PC
- programs to be used.
- Nebosh qualification.
- Ability to manage outside contractors and internal project team members on a day to day basis leading and motivating project teams.
- Control and use of consultants where that work is out with the Job Holders specialist knowledge.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to manage the commercial aspects relating to projects to ensure that budgetary constraints are adhered to.
