Position Purpose:
The Assistant Controller will support the financial operations of the organization by assisting the Controller in managing financial reporting budgeting and compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the controller in overseeing the accounting department ensuring proper accounting practices and timely closing of books.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Support audit processes both internal and external by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Manage AP team and ensure all vendors & suppliers are paid in a timely manner
- Lead and manage the accounts receivable team.
- Coordinate with various departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate reporting.
- Reviewing account reconciliations
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes providing detailed analysis and insights
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial reports including variance analysis & Statement of Cash Flows
- Assist in managing cash flow and working capital
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the financial team
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Essential Skills Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- At least 35 years experience in accounting
- Proficient in JD Edwards preferred
- In depth knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
