The Center for AI Safety (CAIS) is a leading research and advocacy organization on a mission to reduce societalscale risks from AI. We tackle the toughest AI issues with a mix of technical and policy solutions working with our sister organization the CAIS Action Fund.
As part of our mission we are building a network of skilled contributing writers to support our growing content needs. We are looking for journalists who can help to communicate AI safety research policy developments and industry trends to a broad audience.
Covering news and policy developments related to AI and writing explainer articles for a forthcoming new online platform dedicated to highquality journalism and analysis on AIs impacts on national security politics and the economy

$30 $50 an hour
This is a contractbased role with an hourly rate of $30$50 depending on expertise project complexity and level of commitment. Compensation may vary based on factors such as subject matter expertise writing experience and the scope of individual projects.
We are actively building a pool of contributing writers and encourage applicants with expertise in journalism covering AI or technology policy analysis or science communication to apply. Writers may be engaged on a perproject basis depending on expertise and content needs.
