SUMMARY
The Release Manager reports to the VP of SaaS Operations and will lead the Release Management team. The Release Manager in DevOps is responsible for scheduling planning and controlling the softwares development and delivery process. You will be responsible for handling work with the engineering team tomake them deliver the services and software on time and will manage both operations and developers.You will also be responsible for the Release Management lifecycle that involves maintaining quality across the stages such as scheduling the release coordinating between teams and deployment of release as per the schedule and within requirements.You will have to release the software after completing all quality gates and the deployment stage and work closely with the application development team testing team and production team. You will have to maintain proper coordination between these teams to update the project related information.You need to define the strategic usage of release management tools to manage the revenue for the release.Overall you will be concerned with planning testing tracking release deployment communication and risk management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan the release of project deliverables and manage the release management life cycle.
- Communicate the releaserelated tasks such as plans timelines requirements etc. between different teams.
- Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the thirdparty applications defect backlogs planned releases and infrastructure updates.
- Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them such that the scope scheduled and quality of the release is not affected.
- Track the progress and find issues if any. Always work to improve the process of release.
- Make sure that the release is planned according to the requirements and timelines.
- Schedule the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release.
- Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule.
- Plan and give weekly updates on the release activities.
- Make sure the allocation of Engineers to every release is adequate.
- Communicate with engineering managers from each software engineering departments.
- Lead the GoLive activities to deploy the software successfully.
- Team up with relevant engineering teams and engineering managers responsible for building the automation tools used to develop and deploy the software.
- Schedule the release meetings to discuss the release schedules with the team and find roadblocks if any.
- Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release various notifications lists and dependencies.
- Make improvements in the methodologies used for configuration management and development of software that helps to find ways to use in configuration management.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- B.Tech in Computer Science Information Technology Project Management or an equivalent Experience
- Project / Program Management experience
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle and pipelines process.
- Experience in working with DevOps and agile methodologies
- Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle
- Experience in the use of Application Release Automation tools such as ElectricFlow Puppet Enterprise ArgoCD and GitHub systems.
- Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies including Scrum Waterfall orKanban
- Good understanding of application infrastructure system architecture and operating system
- Executive Leadership communications presentations and reporting skills
- Excellent collaboration skills at every level of the organization
- Team and time management skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Some travel is required 25 or less
- Must be able to work exceptionally well with people of varying backgrounds and personality types.
- Ability to operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing in person over the telephone and in email.

The US base salary range for this fulltime position is $100000 $150000 equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including jobrelated skills experience and relevant education or training.
