We are always open to finding selfmotivated and highly organized Lab Manager candidates for potential opportunities within our labs in the greater Boston area.

The Lab Manager role is responsible for supervising and performing technical and administrative tasks on a daytoday basis in support of the labs research and operational needs. This role oversees equipment maintenance ensures adequate supplies for experimental needs assists the Investigator in personnel management manages lab safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations assists in laboratory space and facilities planning makes recommendations for changes maintains inventory of laboratory furniture and equipment and serves as the liaison to both HHMI and host institution administrative offices.

Laboratory Manager I $75350 (minimum) $94200 (midpoint) $122430 (maximum)

Laboratory Manager II $89650 (minimum) $112000 (midpoint) $145640 (maximum)

Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires mobility including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet). Work may involve possible exposure to malodorous vapors low dose radiation contamination by toxic chemicals and acids and presence of carcinogenic substances.

HHMI is flexible to hire either a Laboratory Manager I or a Laboratory Manager II.

Laboratory Manager I $70070 (minimum) $87500 (midpoint) $113740 (maximum)


Pay Type: Annual


HHMIs salary structure is developed based on relevant market data. HHMI considers a candidates education previous experiences knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically a new Laboratory Manager is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
