About the Role

As a Senior Machinist you will play a key role in the daily operation and setup of Mill Turn machines ensuring quality precision and efficiency in our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for meeting production goals troubleshooting processes and maintaining a safe highperforming work environment. What Youll Do


Machine Operation and Setup

o Independently set up machines for all jobs ensuring efficient highquality production that meets company standards.

o Perform firstpiece inspections verifying part quality and precision before full production.


Process Improvement and Collaboration

o Work closely with Engineering to recommend and implement process enhancements.

o Troubleshoot production issues with support from Supervisors and Engineers to ensure smooth production flow.

o Maintain comprehensive machine logs documenting operations part specifications and setup notes for seamless shift transitions.


Quality Control and Inspection

o Perform inprocess inspections of machined products documenting results and ensuring adherence to quality standards.


Maintenance Mentoring and Training

o Perform total productive maintenance including minor repairs and troubleshooting on assigned machines.

o Train machinists and operators on job functions controls and machine operations to enhance team competency and flexibility.

o Mentor and assist Apprentices Junior Machinists and CNC Machinists as needed providing guidance on machine setup quality control and maintenance practices.

o Promote a safe working environment by promptly reporting hazards unsafe conditions and equipment issues.



Requirements

What Youll Bring:


Education and Experience:

o Associates degree in Machining or related field or work experience in place of education.

o 5 years experience as a machinist

o Previous experience working with CMM and VCMM.


Skills and Competencies:

o Ability to express ideas share information listen actively and demonstrate professionalism in written and verbal communication.

o Able to read and interpret blueprints use simple math to perform basic calculations and use handheld measuring tools.

o Proficient knowledge of CMM VCMM and GD&T.

o Subject matter expert and goto in assigned machining area collaborating with other Senior Machinists and Supervisors

o Promotes a sense of urgency to expedite work through area while maintaining quality standards.

o Strong mechanical aptitude.

o Advanced knowledge of programming at the controller.

o Demonstrated knowledge of SPC.

o Excellent attention to detail and problemsolving skills.

o Able to make effective and timely decisions.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

o Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
