Tyler Technologies is currently looking to hire a Senior Systems Administrator to work a hybrid schedule at one of several of our key locations. This job requires a high level of expertise in systems administration monitoring patching configuration and tuning of application servers and its various components in public cloud platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine operations monitoring and maintenance of all environments (dev test stage prod). Work with a group of Systems Engineers on daytoday operations but have the ability to think and work independently as needed. Participate in project development and be responsible for server requirements design implementation and support. The ability to multitask and support various environments is a definite plus.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to execute all key responsibilities for Systems Administrator I II and III
- Works in cooperation with the Systems Architect
- Leads the planning and of development deployments
- Assumes functional leadership responsibility in the absence of management
- Leads onboarding of new Systems Administrators (shadowing training mentoring
and support) - Designs builds and maintains critical system applications and network infrastructure
- Suggests changes and improvements to technology policies and procedures relating to applications and systems deployment
- Assists in the originations users including workstation server and peripheral environments
- Develops systems and application standards
- Designs develops and maintains administrative as well as backend systems and automation processes
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem skills to solve complex issues with or without documented
processes and procedures - Works with managers and directors to implement tactical solutions to ensure continuity of operations are maintained and recurring problems are prevented or eliminated
- Implements performance metrics based on recommendations and justifications to implement
changes - Provides product recommendations to management
- Assists with oncall rotation as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent in area of specialty
- 68 years experience in the field or related area
- Ability to guide a team of admins through a project to completion and directs work of others
- Ability to identify develop & document business requirements technical requirements and functional designs
- Provides advanced level technical support for the applications and/or systems and/or operations staff
- Provide systems consulting to development teams
- Creates capacity planning and trend analysis processes
- Able to optimize systems using tools methods and processes to improve upon performance
- Able to provide and interpret relevant data (utilization capacity metrics cost etc) in support of other teams and departments
- Able to identify and optimize costs
- Finds the nonobvious problem (e.g. malformed packets causing random unexplained packet loss or system instability root cause analysis of undocumented failed infrastructure) and drives cross functionally towards solution
- Attends leadership meetings and effectively shares the information learned
- Acts as liaison between lower level and higher level Systems Engineers
- Possesses advanced levels in software and information lifecycle process data systems relational
databases and client server concepts - Expert skills in utilizing vendor tools and vendor diagnostic tools to drive quick problem and
performance resolutions - Possesses project management skills and knowledge of the technology industry
- Creates automation script using multiple preferred scripting languages
- Recognized as having working knowledge in two or more technology families
- Provides trend analysis to management as well as peer groups to enable informed decisions. Versed in basic statistical methods and models (ex. demand growth cost per unit)
- Experience administering virtual cloud (Azure and AWS) environments
- Ability to troubleshoot TCP/IP LDAP and other core technologies
- Possess strong time management prioritization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and modify basic scripts
- Shares product knowledge with less experienced Systems Engineers
- Experience with automation/configuration management software
- Intermediate level experience supporting 3tiered applications systems with Java/.Net and relational database systems
- 12 years experience with SQL administration
- Has knowledge of standard concept practices and procedures within a particular field; can explain systems technology in nontechnical terms
- Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
