OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas or DMAs and duopolies in 11 DMAs including the three largest DMAs (New York Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports entertainment and syndicated content our television stations collectively produce approximately 1200 hours of local news every week. Our newsroom provides comprehensive coverage of local and national news stories across multiple platforms such as broadcast digital and web. You must be passionate about local news and delivering exceptional television broadcast digital and streaming programming to the market. The ideal candidates will have an ingenious approach to showcasing content and pitching story ideas across multiple platforms that make an impact online offline and in person. We are looking for a dynamic news writer and producer with a creative vision to take our segments to the next level. You should be a social media enthusiast and thrive in a fastpaced environment.
JOB HIGHLIGHTS
Fully contributing member of the newsroom who will evaluate edit and organize stories coordinating with reporters/anchors.
Produce engaging relevant newscasts that meet the highest journalistic standards.
Send breaking news push alerts write digital stories live stream.
Edit photos graphics and videos.
Daily collaboration with directors anchors/reporters editors managers and other staff members.
Think critically under pressure and work professionally on individual assignments and as part of a cohesive team.
Participate in editorial department and station meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU ARE BRINGING
Bachelors degree in journalism communications or related field.
Minimum three years of newsroom experience preferably as a newscast producer.
Minimum two years of experience in a mid to major television market.
Exceptional written verbal copy editing and broadcast production skills.
Solid news judgment.
Excellent storyteller.
Experience in publishing content on digital and social platforms including Facebook Twitter Instagram and YouTube.
Creative detailoriented and ability to find new ways to present information.
Ability to take direction and work under deadline pressure. Consistently display a professional demeanor with the ability to stay cool under pressure and handle strong personalities.
Must be able and willing to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
Candidates must provide writing samples and reel/link of recent production work.
FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 operation. Candidates must have flexibility in scheduling evenings early mornings weekends as well as work all shifts in a 24/7/365 breaking news environment. Must be able to work overtime holidays and varied hours. Candidate will also be required to join the SAGAFTRA WashingtonMid Atlantic Local union for the offair news unit.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements the pay rate/range for this role with final offer amount dependent on education skills experience and location is $32.5040.00 per hour for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles $27.0033.25 per hour for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance a 401(k) plan paid time off and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.Employment Type
