About the Position
The School of Education has a strong profile in providing highly regarded initial teacher education courses in primary early childhood and secondary areas in which Science education plays a key role. The School also offers a range of specialist postgraduate and research courses with internationally recognised specialisations in Educational Leadership Digital Technologies for Learning Inclusive Education and TESOL.
The School of Education is currently seeking a high performing Academic for the role of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Science Education. The position is based at our Wollongong campus and requires face to face teaching. The Lecturer/Senior Lecturerwillteachandcoordinatesubjectsin the area of PrimaryScience/STEMEducationacrossSchoolofEducationInitialTeacherEducation degrees including those mandated by NESA for program accreditation. This position contributes to the scholarly teaching research and governance efforts. The role requires a development of an independentprogramofscholarlyresearchrelatingtoScience/STEMEducationandtomakepositiveandalignedprofessional contributions. In this role you will be required to contribute to the School of Education in ways such as supervising professional experience and research students support the development of strong schooluniversity partnerships contribute to marketing and engagement activities collaborate in teams on matters pertaining to the smooth running of the School and/or complete other governance activities as relevant to the role.
The successful person will be expected to take initiative and constructively respond to change; have the ability to work within a collaborative team environment; have evidence ofstrong interpersonal skills with colleagues students educators and practitioners in the field and have the capacity to lead as relevant to the position. A satisfactory Working with Child Check will be required for this position.

About You
You will be an experienced Educator with a doctoral qualification relevant to Science Education. You will have demonstrated expertise related to Primary Science/STEM education within Initial Teacher Education degrees as well as a relevant research track record. You will have demonstrated skills relevant to Science Education subject design subject coordination management and leadership teaching and delivery. You are committed to advancing research and contributing to the education of future teachers within a university setting.
