Working under the immediate supervision of a pharmacist thePharmacy Technician IIinteracts with health care providers to perform a variety of technical pharmaceutical tasks including preparing intravenous admixtures triaging medicationrelated communications and maintaining the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare package and label medication in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Compounding of sterile intravenous admixtures including hazardous nonhazardous and Investigational Drug Service medications
  • Assist in the training of pharmacy technicians apprentices and interns
  • Triage incoming phone calls and electronic messages relating to medications
  • Interact with professional and technical staff in a courteous manner
  • Cleaning and restocking sterile compounding areas
  • Other pharmacy related duties in accordance with regulations under Washington State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved pharmacy technician training program
  • Current Washington state pharmacy technician license
  • 1 year pharmacy technician experience or completion of Fred Hutch pharmacy apprentice program
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person on the phone and in writing in a clear concise and professional manner
  • Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations
  • Ability to use a mouse navigate computer programs enter data into computer systems accurately and efficiently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience compounding sterile intravenous admixtures
  • Knowledge and experience working with hazardous medications
  • Knowledge of and experience with electronic medical records
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

The hourly pay range for this position is from $32.77 to $49.14 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This position may be eligible for a signon bonus.
