Description

As a member of our Mechanical Engineering team you will work with other departments in the Engineering group to develop industrial ultrashort pulse lasers for a wide range of highend applications.
Mechanical designs for industrial lasers require special properties such as accuracy and stability in the m/rad range. Industrial lasers must also function reliably and robustly under severe temperature fluctuations shocks and vibrations. Extreme cleanliness is just as important which is why the selection of suitable materials and assembly in clean rooms are extremely important for our products.
Your expertise and knowhow in mechanical design materials manufacturing techniques and FEA simulations will be put to optimal use in this position!
Your tasks will cover a broad and varied spectrum. Starting with the design of individual components and assemblies through to complete laser systems. Your own design will be produced externally and then qualified inhouse by you and your colleagues.

Your responsibilities

  • Development of (opto) mechanical components assemblies through to complete laser systems (in cooperation with other departments)
  • Creation of concepts for detailed subassemblies / parts and overall design
  • Construction and later build up of prototypes
  • Carrying out simulations (FEM CAE)
  • Qualification (tests) of components / assemblies inhouse for fast results
  • Development of test setups operating equipment as well as new processes
  • Creation of production documents
  • Participation in functional specifications interim and final reports for technical projects
  • Supporting components / assemblies from the design stage through to series release
  • Creation and maintenance of construction parts in the parts master system

Your profile

  • Successfully completed diploma/masters degree in mechanical engineering
  • Initial professional design experience and a good knowledge of basic material properties are required
  • Sound knowledge of Solid Works
  • Experience in optomechanics laser physics and laser design or precision mechanics an advantage
  • Knowledge of quality tools 8D report PDCA CIP FMEA) an advantage
  • Basic metal working skills desirable
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Reliable and independent way of working and team player
  • Creativity and a pragmatichandson mentality complete your profile
