Job Description

We are looking for a Land Access Rights Manager to join our Legal team based in Bradford or Sheffield. This hybrid role with expectations to work in the office at least two days a week.

Our Wayleave and Land Rights Access Team is expanding as we venture into new industries. With billions of pounds being invested in clean water and sewage upgrade projects alongside substantial investments in renewable energy installations across the UK we are seeking a dynamic individual to assist industry leaders in securing essential land access. This role is perfect for those with experience in the utilities sector whether from a legal standpoint or a project management/planning perspective where land access has been a crucial part of their duties. Your expertise will be vital in advancing these transformative projects.

What will you be doing

  • Manage all land rights access requirementsincluding wayleave easement notice processes and acquisition to ensure efficient delivery of utility projects.
  • Liaise with landowners local authorities and other stakeholdersto secure necessary permissions and agreements including conducting site visits where applicable.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external contractorsto facilitate project progress.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risksrelated to land access and permissions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentationof all notices wayleave and easement agreements.
  • Support landowners with compensation or easement paymentsfrom the utility company.
  • Effectively manage workloadsto ensure adherence to strict deadlines and fulfill commitments.
  • Generate new business for Libertyby creating effective strategies and initiatives to attract potential clients building strong relationships with key stakeholders and identifying new opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Stay updated with relevant debt legislation and case lawthat may affect the team.
  • Generate new business for Liberty Blumeby creating effective strategies and initiatives to attract potential clients building strong relationships with key stakeholders and identifying new opportunities across our utility land access rights workstream.
  • Raise important issues or concernswith the line manager and seek assistance and direction when needed.

We tend to look for people with:

Essential

  • Proven experience in water land access acquisition or a similar role in the electric renewable energy sector.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with the UK land registry and understanding of how to register title deeds.
  • Knowledge of relevant OfWat or OfGen regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and confidence in communication via email and phone.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with legal regulation in either Water or Renewable energy sectors.
  • Experience in surveying land to determine any compensation or devaluation amounts.
  • Knowledge of AMP8 Contracts and requirements to becoming a registered AMP contractor.
