About the Role

Under the guidance of the Team Manager and Team Consultant Psychiatrist you will provide a high level of leadership and supervision to staff coordinating day to day clinical work resources and consumer flow deputising for the Team Manager when required.

  • Provide leadership to multidisciplinary staff members and actively contribute to clinical practice within the mental health service as a senior staff member ensuring that clinical practice standards are met.
  • Lead and contribute to service development and quality activities such as policy and procedure development delivery of education and development of projects and portfolios
  • Develop responsive and accessible services and continuity of care through effective liaison with the integrated adult area mental health service and other relevant services.

Your Contribution

  • Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy or Social Work Clinical Masters in Psychology and current Registration as a Psychologist under the Health Professions Registration Act 2005 (Vic) Division 3 or Division 1 Nurse with Psychiatric Endorsement from the Nurses Board of Victoria.
  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification in psychology a minimum of 5 years post qualification in nursing and a minimum of 7 years post qualification in Occupational Therapy or Social Work.
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of clinical mental health services and preferably in a diverse range of mental health service settings knowledge of relevant legislation mental health policy directions and principles and practice of community based service delivery including case management.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and to contribute to a positive team environment within a community setting
  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or willing to obtain

The Continuing Care Team provides specialised treatment and ongoing support throughout the week during business hours. Employing the Strengths Model of RecoveryOriented Practice the multidisciplinary team delivers tailored clinical and therapeutic interventions to meet the specific needs of consumers with a lived experience of mental illness.
