DescriptionFull time first shift opportunity at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with the Environmental Services Department.
JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates logistics of discharge/transfer beds for Environmental Services and collaborates with supervisors unit managers and PACU and ED charge nurses. Monitors bed production by viewing the bed board. Produces and distributes documents.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED equivalent with one year relevant experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures and keep informed of changes.
- Maintains and monitors bed board system by verifying staff on hand during entire shift and allocates human resources to maximize throughput.
- Communicates with PACU ED and patient logistics to monitor needs and communicate staff allocations.
- Plans and implements logistic plans for volume shifts.
- Communicates with first second and third shift supervisors to transition bed statuses and issues.
- Monitors bed tracking/bed board and checks with supervisor/staff to assure completion of discharges. Keeps bed turnaround time at 60 minutes or less.
- Compiles information by gathering and collecting data. Enter data into computer system for future reference.
- Maintains office operations by responding to routine inquiries.
- Duplicate and distributes documents.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Typing skills of 40 wpm
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Critical thinking skills to resolve issues
- Dependable conscientious and professional in appearance and mannerisms
- Must be a selfstarter
- Highly motivated and determined
