Job Description
- Workday Financials Functional Lead
Clarksons is currently looking externally to perform this role. The role has arisen from the implementation of Workday Financials into keyentities within The Group and a need to deploy Workday to the UK entities including the Expenses module and build on the existing functionality in Oslo and Aberdeen.
The candidate would have the following qualities and responsibilities:
UK Deployment
- Lead process design workshops across all Finance processes areas to capture detailed requirements.
- Establish critical UK Clarksons requirements.
- Identify any local regulations or conditions which require exceptions to be made within the Global Template.
- Identify any gaps between current Foundation Data Model and the requirements for phase two companies belonging to business segments not covered previously.
- Act as interpreter between Systems Integration functional and/or technical resources and internal Finance stakeholders.
- Work with and support the Systems Integration Expert to understand WorkDay best practise processes and configuration as well as any constraints to articulate these to key stakeholders during process design and ensure both workstreams run seamlessly in tandem.
- Contribute to creative process design efforts where deviation from standard template process is required as per Clarksons requirements.
- Carry out functional testing of WorkDay solutions to ensure processes have been configured correctly according to Clarksons business requirements.
- Define and document critical test scenarios across each stream i.e. core financials integrations and expenses.
- Lead testing effort at various stages of the project to ensure that the application is configured according to business requirements agreed designs and successfully integrates with other business applications used in Clarksons.
- Develop business process documentations relating to all Finance processes.
- Support clear process documentation (i.e. Training manual) of consistent of Finance processes post golive and ensure that roles & responsibilities and handoffs are understood by all participants within each process.
- Provide inputs to Change Management agenda supporting the effective adoption of the solution.
- Support the identification of all change management activities required to ensure that all endusers are sufficiently skilled and knowledgeable to successfully execute all processes and transactions.
- Actively support through data conversion migration and reconciliation for all inscope entities.
Improvements to existing functionality
- Supporting team with functional queries and advising Workday capabilities and constraints.
- Review of current configuration and recommendations for improvements.
- Understanding and documenting requirements communicating possible solution and obtaining sign offs.
- Changes and updates to the configuration of the tenant support team through testing and move to production.
- Review design implementation of financial processes and controls.
