    About the Position
    This posting is not for a specific position with the Edmonds School District. Your application will be placed into an applicant pool for School Psychologists for the 202425 school year. When filling positions the Hiring Administrator may hire directly from this Pool or advertiseindividual positions. Pool applicants should also apply for individual postings.

    Under the direct supervision of the Director of Itinerant Support Services the school psychologist works with students teachers and families to support students in achieving the fullest potential educational experience from school. The school psychologist accomplishes this by assessing student skills and by planning and providing academic and social emotional interventions.

    Essential Performance Responsibilities
    1. Leads multidisciplinary teams in completing evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services.
    2. Conducts comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations of students for the purpose of special education eligibility and/or recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to maximize learning and social emotional skills.
    3. Employs a strengthsbased approach to writing evaluation reports which meet State timelines and District guidelines. Reports are written to be easily understood by teachers and families to better support the students progress in general education.
    4. Conducts counseling activities according to district counseling program requirements and building needs. Activities may include classroom lessons and individual and small group counseling for students who require supplemental support to access and/or make progress in general education.
    5. Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff to familiarize stakeholders with psychological services.
    6. Serves as a resource and consultant on mental health and conducts inservice programs as requested.
    7. Serves as resource to students by providing counseling that will lead each student to increase selfawareness selfmanagement responsible decisionmaking relationship skills and social awareness.
    8. Continues to acquire professional knowledge of current practices in the educational field by attending seminars workshops or professional meetings by conducting research and/or by maintaining professional affiliations.
    9. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate management of special education evaluation timelines including initial referrals and triennial evaluations.
    10. Encourages parental involvement in students education and ensures effective communication with students and families.

    Additional Duties
    Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Itinerant Support Services. The aboveresponsibilities arenot meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities
    1. Knowledge of child psychology principles assessments methods behavior modification etc. and current developments in child psychology knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning profiles.
    2. Knowledge of data information systems data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
    3. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
    4. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
    5. Ability to organize and coordinate work.
    6. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
    7. Ability to engage in selfevaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
    8. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
    9. Ability to provide leadership with colleagues regarding areas of expertise and practice.
    10. Strong assessment analytical and diagnostic skills.

    Required Qualifications:
    Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate Certificate as a School Psychologist.

    Salary:
    202425 Salary Schedule Range: $80136 through $143159. Placement on this salary schedule is determined by FTE and official documentation verifying Educational Level and Certificated Work Experience and will be prorated for less than a full year and/or FTE.

    Benefits:
    Our benefits package includes Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package for eligible positions.
    • Eligibility for health insurance is based on whether the employee is anticipated to be compensated at least 630 hours per school year (September 1 through August 31. For the 202425school year a .5 FTE continuing contract position will meet that eligibility threshold. Eligibility for a noncontinuing contract position will be determined at the time of hire by counting the total anticipated compensated hours from the date of hire through the end of the noncontinuing contract. Benefitsinclude Medical Dental Vision Longterm Disability Life and ADD Insurance and options for HSA FSA and DCAP.
    • Eligibility for retirement is based on whether the employee is anticipated to work at least 70 hours per month for 5 months during the school year. For the 202425school year a .6 FTE (either continuing or noncontinuing) meets that eligibility threshold.

    While fulfilling the responsibilities of this job the employee is expected to navigate various school and classroom environments. The role may involve assisting students who need physical support or exhibit challenging behaviors. The role requires communicating with others regularly. Tasks may include frequent manual work using hands or fingers as well as occasional reaching bending or twisting. The position may require moving objects regularly weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Visual requirements include performing closerange tasks and adjusting focus as necessary.
