Director RD Global Program Manager

This is what you will do:

The Director R&D Global Program Manager (GPM) is responsible for coleading the strategic and operational planning and decisionmaking processes with an Alexion Global Program Team (GPT). Working in partnership with the Global Program Team Leader (GPTL) the GPM provides strategic vision and guidance to the team by developing integrated plans to successfully execute the strategy. The Director GPM will provide content expertise to the timing costs and resources for development programs and be able to successfully deliver their program(s) milestones and goals. As the strategic partner and operational lead for development and lifecycle management programs the Director GPM works to ensure that crossfunctional teams operate effectively fostering positive team dynamics and championing Alexions operating model.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading cross functional GPTs in partnership with the GPTL to deliver key milestones and activities andcommunicating program details risks and mitigations to Leadership Teams

• Coordinating and driving the planning activities for the GPT including milestone setting budget forecasting resource planning scenario planning and developing an integrated program plan based off of crossfunctional inputs and assumptions

• Providing strategic guidance to pressuretest program teams assumptions drive scenario planning / trade off analysis and crossfunctional planning into the overall integrated program plan

• Developing and maintaining program budget resource planning and investment assumptions for buyups/buydowns in partnership with finance to ensure transparency and accuracy of funding status

• Facilitating team goal setting and tracking to ensure adherence to plan and strategy and in preparation for end of year team evaluation process

• Managing all associated GPT subteams and tracking integrated deliverables and preparing the GPT for governance interactions at program inflection points

• Working independently to provide best in class operations and program management expertise to drive the GPT toward excellence and bringing project management leadership and expertise in the assessment and integration of external assets into the Alexion pipeline

• Representing the vision and mission of the department to the Alexion organization and provide mentorship to junior staff

You will need to have:

Given the complex crossfunctional and crossprogram nature of development programs; the GPM will need to execute in these core competencies:

• Expert understanding of the endtoend processes in clinical stage drug development and product value assessment

• Expertise in planning budget and resource management of clinical stage drug development projects.

• Excellent written and verbal skills including full professional English proficiency strong influencing and interpersonal skillsto operate and motivate a team in a matrix environment at all levels in the organization without authority.

• Must be wellorganized and have strong attention to detail with an ability todeal with competing priorities;high level of problemsolving capability and business acumen ability to balance competing priorities and quickly and objectively drive the team towards a path which maximizes valuewhile maintaining the endtoend crossfunctional view

• Proven track record of planning and managing complex programs in different phases of drug development including crossfunctional deliverables across Research Operations CMC Commercial and Market Access

• Demonstrated ability to provide effective program management leadership in terms of setting program plans for the lifecycle of a program from discovery through launch.

• Adept use of SharePoint PowerPoint Excel andtechnical proficiency in the use of program planning tools and systems e.g. Microsoft Project Planisware resource management decision analytics budgeting mgmt.

• B.S. degree minimum with higher level degree preferred plus >10 years of industry experience 8 of which should be in managing crossfunctional teams.

We would prefer for you to have:

• MBA/M.S./M.A. or equivalent level of experience

• 12 years of experience within one or more functional role(s) in pharmaceutical R&D drug development biotechnology or related industry

• Project Management Institute (PMI) qualifications or similar formal training

• High level of proficiency in Planisware MS Office software including: Word Excel Outlook Visio PowerPoint MS Power BI.
