Role Description

Regional Operations Manager East

Reporting to the Associate Director of Courier and Logistics the Regional Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of the daily operations of a geographic region. This position will have regular contact with individual Courier and Logistics Leadership to ensure optimal efficiency of their assigned markets and ensure that our service standards are adhered to. They will interact with our partners including national courier and carrier leadership to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated issues are resolved and aligned in the operation. The Manager is expected to remain aligned and informed of courier and logistics operations in order to recommend and assist in the implementation of improvements and efficiencies. This position is responsible for customer satisfaction and must understand and positively impact financial performance through service excellence. The Manager will participate in opening new markets in the region to meet customer demands and expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieving business goals and service targets.
  • Overseeing daily operations managing budgets and setting performance objectives.
  • Managing internal and external stakeholder relations and negotiating contracts.
  • Planning evaluating and optimizing operations to be efficient and costeffective.
  • Ensuring all services comply with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Ensuring company standards and procedures are followed.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly quarterly and annual statements analyses and reports of operations.
  • Resolving escalated customer issues incident reports and legal actions.
  • Creating indepth analysis reports utilizing logistics and MS Excel software.
  • Assist in growth planning while supporting marketing and sales service activities to achieve growth.
  • Maintains good relations with colleagues and positively contributes to the work climate.
  • Collects and shares relevant information about clients work tools forms and data with all internal parties.
  • Ensures SOPs are updated and adhered to by team members and external stakeholders. Informs Associate Director of Courier and Logistics of any concerns and/or recommended changes.
  • Adhoc duties and participation in meetings as required.
  • Manage and develop staff as appropriate including but not limited to: hiring training compensation planning setting and monitoring objectives performance management and more.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • BS Diploma in business administration management or similar field or equivalent.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience business administration management or similar field.
  • Requires experience managing national carrier/courier employee and contractor base.
  • Requires experience and in successfully managing a 7Day/week delivery operation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MSOffice suite advanced Excel ability required.
  • Proficiency in utilizing carrier systems.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures and customs duties (desirable).
  • Good logistics geographical knowledge.
  • LEAN/Six Sigma Certification (a plus).
  • Sound judgement and logical reasoning; The manager must possess the ability to make good decisions in little or no time.
  • Analytical skills
  • Communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate messages/information across all frontlines to ensure service excellence.
  • Crossfunctional collaboration and teamwork required for achieving results.
  • Excellent leadership skills; Ability to motivate courier colleagues/contract groups.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
