Position Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator/Journeyperson will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in order to maintain district roadways parking lots maintain ditches and natural water courses. Equipment includes gasoline or dieselpowered equipment such as sweepers graders flushers loaders bulldozers aerial trucks skid steers excavators ditch witch and backhoes. Repair remove or replace broken or damaged playground equipment patch the rubber surfacing and maintain proper levels of all zone material. Repair replace or remove damaged fence and gates. Assists with other crafts in completing all assigned work orders. Must report labor cost and any pertinent information regarding all work orders assigned and return to the foreperson daily.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or General Education Development certificate/diploma
Specialized Knowledge Licenses etc.:
Commercial Drivers License Class A
Experience:
Three 3 years experience operating heavy equipment
Specific Training/Skills:
Skilled in operating all types of equipment assigned to department
Care & use of common hand and power tools
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to occasionally life more than 50lbs
Must be able to stand bend stoop or reach for extended periods of time
Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds
Other:
Able and willing to learn Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
Proficient in Spanish is a plus
Previous experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred
