Job Summary
The Department of Management invites applications for a fulltime 9month special purpose position at the rank of instructor/assistant professor in Entrepreneurship and Management to begin August 12 2022. The department is looking for a dynamic teacher with a primary emphasis in the areas of Entrepreneurship Strategy and/or General Management. The position will require maintenance of AACSB Instructional Practitioner Scholarly Practitioner or Practicing Academic qualifications. The position responsibilities include full time teaching (four courses per semester) advising students and service at the department college and university level. The Department of Management is the largest of the colleges departments in terms of majors and consist three disciplines Organizational Behavior Decision Science and Strategy/Entrepreneurship. The department offers a major in management a concentration in entrepreneurship a minor in management and a minor in entrepreneurship. Radford University is a comprehensive public university of approximately 9500 students that has received national recognition for many of its undergraduate and graduate academic programs as well as its sustainability initiatives. Radford University serves the Commonwealth of Virginia and the nation through a wide range of academic cultural human service and research programs and is one of the premier teacher preparation universities in the Commonwealth. Radford Universitys Davis College of Business and Economics serves a population of approximately 1400 prebusiness and business students who complete BBA degrees in accounting economics finance management or marketing; BS degrees in economics; and MBA degrees. Students add minors in business administration economics entrepreneurship management or marketing and concentrations in entrepreneurship or international economics. The awardwinning MBA program is transitioning from a hybrid program to a yearround asynchronous online program marketed by Academic Partners. Radford University completed COBEs signature academic home Kyle Hall in fall 2012. Faculty staff students and the community benefit from the facilitys modern learning and teaching technologies. The buildings design guided by a faculty committee incorporates such signature features as: a trading room with a Bloomberg terminal MorningStar data service and displays from RISE ; student study areas designed to foster team projects; a wireless environment that supports the requirement for students to have laptop computers; and facilities for the outreach of COBE through the Center for Innovation and Analytics the Venture Lab the Small Business Development Center and the Government and Nonprofit Assistant Center. The business faculty seek to challenge minds cultivate talents and connect people within our technologyrich environment. Required Qualifications
Minimum qualification include an earned graduate degree with at least 18 hours in management or a closely related field. Candidates should have a degree in business or management from an AACSB accredited school. Candidates with at least a masters degree in a closely allied field will be considered if they have substantial experience in starting and/or running a business.
Preferred Qualifications
A PhD ABD considered) or Masters degree from an AACSB accredited college or school of business. Ideally candidates should also have business experience experience starting or growing entrepreneurial organizations substantial teaching experience excellent course evaluations and facility in developing and teaching online and hybrid courses.
