Water Wastewater Engineer

GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking a Engineer 2 with experience in water/wastewater engineering to join our talented and energetic team in either our Homestead Cranberry or Southpointe PA office. An ideal candidate has planning design permitting and construction experience in the water/ wastewater market for municipal and/or industrial clients. This position is an excellent opportunity to grow technical and project management knowledge skills and abilities for todays water and infrastructurefocused environment. This position can be hybrid and the successful candidate will be eligible for a signon bonus.

Job Duties:

• Assist in water/wastewater process and pipeline design projects for municipal and industrial clients.
• Work on multidiscipline teams to complete water and wastewater planning evaluation design and construction projects related to collection conveyance and distribution systems pump stations storage and treatment facilities and asset upgrade/rehabilitation.
• Assist with Civil/Process Engineering design projects including schematic/preliminary design design development final design specifications permitting bidphase services and construction contract document production.
• Participates in technical studies product design preparation of specifications and technical plans.
• Field work may include water sampling site inspection and construction administration support including completing field observation reports.
• The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills including written oral and good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work and interface well in a collaborative and detailoriented project team environment.
• Ensures that work products meet client environmental and safety requirements.
• Possesses strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules.
• Performs moderate to complex water/wastewater/civil design tasks while delegating more routine tasks to staff with less experience.
• Mentor guide and check the work of less experienced staff.
• Strong team collaboration oral and written communication design expertise and problemsolving skills are required.
• Adhere to safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients.
• Travel to other offices/meet with clients/attend projectspecific meetings.

• B.S. or M.S. Engineering

Certification/Licensure

• Professional Engineer (P.E. License

Technical Responsibilities

• Designs a complete project system component or process.
• Prepares complete plans specifications and other project documents.
• Designs and conducts analyses and interprets test data.
• Begins to develop and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.

Project and Task Management

• Assigns tasks to other technical and nontechnical staff.
• Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.
• Prepares scopes budgets and schedules for assignments.
• Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or projects.

Management Responsibility

• Receives general direction on key objectives.
• Receives guidance on unconventional/complex problems direction on modified techniques and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
• Mentors junior staff by providing guidance explaining professional responsibilities and reviewing work products.
• Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.

Communication Skills

• Communicates effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
