Job Description

DEPARTMENT: JUSTICE SERVICES

LOCATION: HALIFAX NC

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

JOB TITLE: TASC Peer Support Specialist

LOCATION: Halifax & surrounding counties (travel required)

HOURS: 40 hours/week Full Time MF Exempt

Coastal Horizons Center Inc. is seeking a qualified Peer Support Specialist for our TASC program. We have this specific opportunity located in:

Halifax and surrounding counties NC

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certifications: Ability to complete a peer education training program as needed; PSS Certification/WRAP preferred.

Experience: Two 2 years of recovery with mental health or substance use required. Personal experience as a consumer of mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment or some equivalent experience preferred.

Additional Skills: Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including travel. Knowledge of recovery harm reduction and wellnessbased concepts. Proficient computer skills including the ability to navigate the internet word processing and spreadsheet applications and basic email platforms.
