Job Description
Who we are:
Warwick Animal Hospital in Warwick Rhode Island is growing and looking for Veterinarians of all experience levels both new grads and experienced Veterinarians! Our team has a unique synergy and we all draw from each others diverse personalities and backgrounds. We treat each case as a team collaborating across our doctors techs and support staff.
We have a large treatment area where we practice small animal urgent care medicine and preventative care. Our hospital is equipped with the following machines:
- Oxygen door in one of our larger kennels to provide indirect oxygen support
- Direct oxygen lines through the building for anesthesia
- Surgical suite with two surgery tables and two wet tables for dentals and shorter procedures
- Inhouse bloodwork machines through Idexx
- Catalyst machine for chemistry panels
- ProCyte Dx CBC machine
- iSTAT machine for more specific panels
- SediVue urinalysis machine
- Several SNAP proanalyzers.
- Digital radiographs (both whole body and dental radiographs)
- Ultrasound for AFAST/TFAST examinations
- Companion Animal Laser machine for various therapeutic indications
Rhode Island being the smallest state in the country lends itself to being a tight knit community. We work with Defenders of Animals Operation Pawsability the NEADS WorldClass Service Dogs organization Providence Animal Rescue League. We also commonly examine patients with health concerns who are being housed at the Warwick Animal Shelter and Animal Control. We will also be participating for the second time this fall in the Rhode Island SPCAs annual event Paws in the Park.
Veterinarians work an average of 34 hours during the typical week which is divided between morning 8am4pmor 8am5pm) and evening shifts 11am7pm)with one dedicated surgery day a week andone Saturdayeach month. We do not take calls after hours.
Warwick is 20 minutes from the states capital city of Providence. Providence and Newport offer many different cultural flavors to the area with many yearly social events and festivals. In addition to this we are 40 minutes from the beautiful preserved coastline and natural areas of Rhode Island that are loved by those who enjoy the outdoors.
