Peer Support Specialist Permanent Supportive Housing

Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) is the oldest and largest AIDS Service Organization (ASO) in Oregon and Southwest Washington that provides the LGBTQ community and beyond with compassionate healthcare. CAPs mission is to promote wellbeing and advance equity by providing inclusive health and wellness services for LGBTQ people people affected by HIV and all those seeking compassionate care. Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and teamoriented Peer Support Specialist Permanent Supportive Housing. The Peer Support Specialist establishes meaningful rapport with clients to encourage engagement in their housing mental health and medical care with the goal of achieving clients overall wellbeing. The role emphasizes selfdetermination selfsufficiency and independence. Additionally the Peer Support Specialist supports clients in reducing stigma and isolation while helping them build social connections through participation in the mentoring program and by referring them to other support services. The caseload for this position consists of approximately 20 30 active and engaged participants.

This is a Full Time role and will be colocated at CAPs Davis Street office and up to 2 days a week at the Joyce Apartments where some CAP permanent supportive housing clients reside. Travel is required throughout the Portland Metro service area for meetings and client home visits. The schedule for this role is MondayFriday 9am5pm some nights and weekends may be required.

Starting pay is $22.77 an hour which is equivalent to just over $47370 a year. The Peer support specialists Pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is 26.52. This is a union represented position so the compensation benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.
