Job Description

The Clinical Supervisor provides administrative and clinical oversight including supervision of masterlevel clinicians and clinical interns for the specialty Community Based Acute Treatment called Neurodevelopmental Unit (NDU). The NDU is a specialized CommunityBased Acute Treatment (CBAT) service for children with cooccurring mental health conditions and/or ID/ASD. The Clinical Supervisor is one of the leaders of the program and is responsible for recruiting training and retaining staff while raising the caliber of clinical reputation for the program making it the best in the state. The Clinical Supervisor oversees and participates in the treatment of individual clients and families when coverage is needed. The Clinical Supervisor provides support to clinical and paraprofessional staff while ensuring the children and families receive the highest quality of care.

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title. Employees may be requested to perform jobrelated tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Qualifications

  • Ongoing evaluation of clinical programming and treatment options and strategies

  • Work closely with clinical team to implement trauma informed behavior based interventions

  • Develop coordinate and implement therapeutic group programming that is developmentally appropriate and builds skills

  • Provides consistent constant and comprehensive ongoing training for milieu and clinical staff

  • Work with the clinical and milieu team to develop and implement the use of sensory integration

  • Perform all skills of the Safety Care curriculum

  • Attend rounds and participate in sophisticated clinical discussions

  • Participate in the hiring orientation and training of new clinical staff

  • Supervision of clinical staff and clinical interns on a weekly basis

  • Evaluation of staff annually and at other necessary intervals

  • Informal evaluation of direct care staff; sharing feedback with other leaders

  • Provide onthespot modeling and coaching by walking through the units daily guiding staff on appropriate interventions

  • Ensures the timely completion and quality of all record keeping related to clinical service by regular and close monitoring

  • Provide case coverage when shortstaffed

  • Collaborate regularly with outside collaterals including insurance companies and state agencies

  • Independent clinical license (LICSW or LMHC meeting supervisory requirements) required

  • At least 3 years of experience working with similar population and families

  • Physical ability to provide therapeutic physical restraint

  • Demonstrated proficiency in family individual and group therapy

  • Experience with supervision of clinicians/clinical staff required

  • Experience with residential programs preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential

  • Strong organizational skills able to multitask and prioritize able to meet deadlines

  • Strong and demonstrated motivational and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated competency in electronic medical records and Microsoft 365

  • Must be receptive and responsive to supervision and professional development

  • Ability to respond to emergencies quickly and safely

  • Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Evidence of sensitivity and respect for clients culture and socioeconomic characteristics

  • Demonstrated support and belief in the Agencys treatment philosophy values and mission

  • Visual and hearing acuity to perform job related functions
