We are looking for an experienced Cook dedicated to providing a unique dining experience to join our team! You will be preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy. You are passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through good quality food. With previous experience as a cook you are able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to maintain safety and sanitation requirements as per Health Department and restaurant standards.
- Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu and as requested by the Chef
- Cook food and prepare menu items in a timely manner and according to recipes
- Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of work surfaces or serving areas and storage containers to ensure safe and sanitary foodhandling practices
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality keeping track of old and new items and rotating stock
- Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
- Must use cutting gloves and follow all safety procedures.
- Maintain specific sidework and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant; complete opening and closing duties; keep a clean workstation and floor space.
- Communicate with coworkers in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Other duties as directed.
- Previous experience as a restaurant cook in a high volume kitchen preferred
- CA ServeSafe or Food Handlers certification (or must be willing to attain)
- Effective communication skills
- Able to lift carry or pull objects that may be heavy; ability to lift overhead
- Ability to work standing for duration of shift
