The Biological Imaging Resources Laboratory (BRIL) is UNSWs advanced preclinical imaging facility operated as part of the Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre UNSW providing researchers with access to numerous imaging systems including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) microcomputed tomography (microCT) positronemission tomography (PET) ultrasound optical imaging and Xray.
The Technical Officer will support the activities in BRIL and work closely with other facility staff to contribute to the overall management and operation of multiple imaging instruments and related activities of this core research support facility.
The role of Technical Officer reports to Head Biological Resources Imaging Laboratory.

About the successful applicant
You have a degree or diploma relevant to BRILs activities ideally in biomedical imaging biomedical engineering or a related field. Experience in medical sciences biosciences or imaging research is essential along with a willingness to work with preclinical animal models and radiationgenerating instruments.
You must be able to quickly learn new research instrumentation experimental techniques and data processing methods while also demonstrating expertise in operating scientific equipment and managing associated IT systems. Experience in preclinical imaging such as optical imaging ultrasound microCT microPET/SPECT or MRI is highly valued.
Demonstrated initiative the ability to work independently as well as collaborate within interdisciplinary teams are critical. You also have excellent organisational and communication skills along with an understanding of UNSWs values policies and health and safety responsibilities including a commitment to relevant training.
