Job Description
Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Shreveportseek candidates for a fulltime faculty position at theAssistant Professor or Associate Professor levelto serve as afaculty member in the Division of Endocrine and Oncologic Surgeryas part of ourDepartment of Surgery. The Division of Endocrine and Oncologic Surgery is led by Terry C. Lairmore MD and R. Keith White MD chairs the Department of Surgery. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in general surgery have completed a surgical oncology fellowship and be eligible for Louisiana licensure.
The Division of Surgical Oncology:
- Work in atertiary care hospitalserving an urban and rural population of approximately 2.5 million encompassing 25000 square miles in Louisiana East Texas and Southwestern Arkansas.
- The emphasis of this recruitment is for a general surgical oncologist though the opportunity will be provided to develop a diseasespecific focus including possible areas of interest such as gastrointestinal tumors cutaneous malignancies soft tissue sarcoma and peritoneal surface malignancies. Robotic experience is optimal.
- Academic practice involving patient care resident and medical student education and clinical and/or basic science research. Active generation of scholarly activity is highly encouraged and expected as a member of the Division and Department of Surgery.
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of physicians at theFeistWeiller Cancer Center(FWCC) a designatedCenter for Excellence in Cancer Research Treatment and Education to provide comprehensive patient care.
