Job Description
Our Tomlinson Environmental Services division is lookingat hiring a Front End Commercial Driver. The operator is responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste and recycling.
Location: 970 Moodie Drive
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and drive a DZ truck to transport waste and recycling materials throughout the City of Ottawa and surrounding areas
Responsible for the collection of waste/recycling containers on assigned route
Transport waste and recycling material to disposal transfer or recycling facility
Perform pretrip enroute and posttrip inspection of vehicle systems equipment and accessories such as tires lights and turn signals and brakes
Ensure safety requirements are followed in accordance with company policy
Provide excellent customer service leaving customers location clean and free of debris
Communicate with dispatcher other drivers and customers using communication devices and onboard computers
WORKING CONDITIONS
Long periods of driving and sitting
Available to start work at 5:00AMuntil route completion
Bending lifting pushing pulling extreme weather noise and strong odors
Must have steel toed boots
Comfortable working alone
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a valid Ontario DZ drivers License
12 years experience ideally in waste collection or similar industry
Knowledge of the city an asset
