Summary: The Educational Specialist will assist in the development and implementation of college and career readiness curriculum programs activities and campus tours for youths in 8th 12th grades.
Classification Summary:
Plans and coordinates public professional or community nonhealth related educational programs. Develops curricula prepares relevant presentations and materials and organizes and delivers and/or facilitates classes workshops seminars and other training services. Provides student advisement and associated services as appropriate.
Classification Standard Duties:
Plans and designs curricula for educational programs; researches and defines educational goals objectives and methodologies to meet program goals. Determines formats and approaches to achieve program and budget objectives; defines needs of target populations; researches trends at the national and state level as appropriate to the position. Coordinates activities of support staff consultants faculty and/or volunteers engaged in implementation and administration of program objectives. Manages and facilitates program activities to include classes trainings conferences seminars and/or other special projects. As appropriate to the nature and objectives of the individual role provides student advisement and support services coordinates curriculum and serves as a student liaison and advocate with faculty and staff. Monitors and administers program/project revenues and expenses; may develop or participate in the development of funding proposals for the program. Writes edits and coordinates development of course catalogs promotional materials educational materials training manuals newsletters and/or brochures as appropriate to the program. Purchases equipment and/or services as necessary and ensures the proper usage and maintenance of materials and equipment relevant to unit activities. Assists with grant and/or proposal writing as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program; may participate in other fundraising activities. Develops and maintains records and databases on student and program activities materials equipment and supplies. Coordinates student registration for special educational programs. May lead or guide the work of lower graded staff and/or student employees. Performs miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.
Required Education Experience Certification/License Equivalency
Education Masters degree in a related field.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of supplies equipment and/or services ordering and inventory control. Knowledge of academic and/or vocational education curricula. Knowledge of communication principles media and marketing techniques. Knowledge of principles and procedures related to student advisement and/or related services. Knowledge of finance accounting budgeting and cost control procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Records maintenance skills. Program planning and implementation skills. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Advanced writing and editorial skills.
Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on research data and findings. Ability to manage and facilitate educational programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The program specialist will assist in the development and implementation of college and career readiness curriculum programs activities and campus tours for youths in 8th 12th grades/
Research design develop and maintain innovative curriculum relevant to the student/learner population.
Regularly lead colead and observe programs at a variety of sites to test curriculum activities and support educators.
Assist in identifying grant opportunities & writing applications with the Aggie Next Step Program Director and the 4H/Youth Development Dept. Head.
Assist in organizing on campus college/career tours for youth participants and their teachers.
