This is a FullTime Administrative position at grade 19 with an annual salary range of $114989 to $153318. The salary offer will be based on education and experience in alignment with the Colleges compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this position provides vision leadership management and strategic direction for Wellness Services Veteran Services Student Judicial Affairs Career Development Services and ADA/Student Access & Disability Services. They lead all aspects of the Colleges Student Code of Conduct issues assist faculty and staff with student behavioral concerns chair the Student Disciplinary Committee and the Behavioral Intervention/Threat Assessment Team (BIT) and serve as a highly visible student advocate and resource. This position collaborates with various departments within the college and external constituents to offer comprehensive student services programming and resources focused on student development engagement learning and success. They employ evaluation and assessment for continuous improvement at the departmental and divisional levels in collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Student Services & Development (AVP). The incumbent demonstrates a commitment to diversity inclusion equity justice integrity excellence caring freedom of inquiry and accountability. General direction is received from the Associate VP of Student Services and Development.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  1. Masters degree in counseling higher education administration student development or another relevant field.
    2. Minimum of five years of related supervisory and leadership experience required with a background in student services/affairs.
    3. Knowledge of student affairs/student development theory and practice.
    4. Legal knowledge and practice of Higher Education Law including case law and related compliance issues Illinois Community College Statutes and related compliance issues Student Rights and Due Process ADA Section 504 and other disability rules and laws.
    5. Awareness of student affairs best practices trends and challenges e.g. enrollment retention college student mental health career development judicial affairs veteran services student conduct disability services.
    6. Proven leadership and management experience in a complex organization with proven ability to apply management principles lead and develop teams organize and set priorities and establish goals and strategies for achieving them.
    7. Demonstration of excellent analytical and problemsolving skills utilizing sound professional judgment.
    8. Ability to be fiscally responsible.
    9. Ability to supervise a diverse staff and functions given deadlines policies procedures and pressure during peak periods.
    10. Working knowledge of conflict management restorative justice and student conduct processes.
    11. Working knowledge of the threat assessment and behavioral intervention management process.
    12. Working knowledge of student veteran support services.
    13. Working knowledge of student mental health and wellness trends and support practices.
    14. Working knowledge and competence in administration and interpretation of various career assessments instruments including MyersBriggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory.
    15. Experience with crisis counseling and intervention in a higher education setting.
    16. Experience using data to conduct program assessment and advocate for and then lead initiatives and improvements based on that assessment
    17. Excellent listening speaking reading writing communication skills.
    18. Excellent computer skills.

Desired Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

LPC LCPC and/or NCC preferred.
Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague Perceptive Content (WebNow) and a CRM software a plus.

Essential Duties:

  1. Career Development Services: Lead the department providing strategic leadership and ensuring effective marketing and delivery of career services. Manage staff budget and program implementation. Coordinate the GSD 120 course overseeing faculty hiring and training.
  2. Wellness Services: Lead and evaluate a holistic mental health and wellness program. Ensure effective communication with faculty and staff regarding mental health issues and student concerns.ensuring that key psychological and educational issues are addressed relevant programs are created and implemented and intervention services and referrals are delivered that ensure students receive the professional help needed to implement their educational goals and achieve success.
  3. Student Code of Conduct: Serve as Judicial Affairs Officer handling student conduct violations and chairing the Student Disciplinary Committee and Behavioral Intervention Team. Provide prevention education and assess judicial processes.
  4. Veterans Services: Supervise staff manage the budget advocate for student veterans and coordinate events and training.
  5. ADA/Student Access & Disability Services: Supervise the Director ensure compliance with ADA legislation and advocate for equity and access. Collaborate on complex accommodation needs and faculty concerns.
  6. Other Responsibilities: Manage budgets for multiple services set department goals handle emergency procedures serve on committees resolve student complaints and engage with student groups and events. Serve as evening administrator and on the Emergency Management Team

  1. Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
  2. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
