Job Details Senior Data Scientist
The Senior Data Scientist will lead in the identification and creation of cuttingedge data assets and predictive models that feed into Hastings marketleading pricing activities. This role is within the Claims and Fraud Data Science Team championing the adoption of the latest machine learning (ML) techniques to leverage powerful insights from vast amounts of customer information.
Accountabilities
Your remit will include the following:
Develop best inclass models to predict claims outcomes fraud and other risk KPIs
Engineer powerful new rating factors to be deployed into our rating algorithms
Identify analyse and monetise new data sources
Skills we would love you to have
Essential
Strong technical modelling skills
Proven track record of delivering commercial value
Keen interest in emerging ML techniques and how these can be used within Underwriting & Pricing
Strong SQL skills
Proficiency in R and/or Python
Strong senior stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to work crossfunctionally with Data Engineers Data Scientists Actuaries and Pricing Analysts
Desirable
Experience with using GitHub as a code collaboration tool
Personal Attributes
Natural problem solver who loves building quality solutions to complex realworld challenges
Focuses on the bigger picture but not afraid to get into the detail when necessary
Dynamic flexible and deliveryfocussed work ethic required to adapt to a fastpaced environment
