Are you a skilled Apprentice Millwright with a knack for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues Do you value safety and sustainability as top priorities If so we have an exciting opportunity that might just be your calling. Were seeking a 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Millwright for our Elko BC sawmill where you can utilize your technical expertise communication skills and troubleshooting abilities to keep our modern sawmill operating at peak performance. Join our team and work alongside industry leaders in the forest products sector.

As an Apprentice Millwright your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with a highperformance team dedicated to maintaining all mill machinery including pumps conveyors compressors mechanical systems rollers and chains bearings and pneumatic systems involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Keeping our systems running smoothly by performing preventative predictive and reactive maintenance which involves inspecting machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions. You should be comfortable working under pressure.
  • Effective time management assessing carefully when to assemble move replace or dismantle machinery.
  • Applying your knowledge skills and experience to troubleshoot issues enhance equipment reliability and implement safe reliable fixes to keep the mill running.
  • Having great attention to detail to identify and request relevant parts for timely repairs.
  • Accountability for assisting in creating a safe work environment for coworkers customers and site visitors.

For this role we are looking for candidates who:

  • Have completed their 3rd or 4th year Millwright Apprenticeship program
  • Have the physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of urgency.
  • Have knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process (an asset).
  • Possess experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability (an asset).

The hourly rate for this position is: $42.49
