Job Description

The Orientation Specialist works with the orientation team and supports our safety personnel to ensure that vehicles are assigned to drivers that inspections are prepared on incoming and outgoing trucks that drivers are appropriately trained and road/skill tested and assists with the operation and functioning of the terminal as directed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Give road and skills testing to drivers in orientation. This includes being outside in multiple weather situations demonstrating the requirements of lifting and entering/exiting the truck etc.
  • Work with drivers on the use of the Geotab device including elogs.
  • Coordinate with personnel in Driver Orientation Safety Maintenance Operations and Driver Recruiting.
  • Conduct inspections on trucks that are being issued to drivers and document their condition relative to the last inspection.
  • Give training on how to conduct the Reefer unit and how to work the APU/ EPU/ etc.
  • Assist the Orientation Manager with duties.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Talent Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent pairedwithrelevantprofessionalexperience.
  • Abilitytoprocessinformationwithhighlevelsofaccuracyandenergy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs to your waist and over your head entering and exiting the truckas you do skills testing.
  • Ability to stand long periods of time while training or walking on the yard.
  • Computerproficiencyand abilitytonavigate between multiple programs.
  • Current Class A CDL license is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrates an AllIn toWinattitudeand displays selfmotivation and a strongdesiretolearn within an unpredictable and demanding environment.
