Job Description

Senior Security Architect Baseline Security Clearance (or Ability to Obtain)

Canberra Preferred Open to Major Cities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect to provide expert security guidance ensuring compliance with Australian Government security policies and frameworks. You will play a key role in reviewing and advising on security architecture contributing to departmental Architecture & Design Authority (ADA) and Technical Design Authority (TDA) discussions and ensuring alignment with ISM PSPF and IRAP standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and provide cybersecurityfocused architectural design assessments.
  • Lead discussions on security considerations within Architecture & Design Authority (ADA) and Technical Design Authority (TDA).
  • Develop highquality security documentation and risk assessments.
  • Effectively communicate security concepts risks and controls to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Provide security advisory services to project teams executives and departmental stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with the Authority to Operate Framework (AtOF) and government security standards ISM PSPF IRAP.
  • Represent and support the IT Security Advisor (ITSA) in securityrelated matters and decisionmaking.
  • Facilitate and negotiate security discussions to reach consensus.

Essential Criteria:

  • 5 years of experience as a Security Architect or Cybersecurity Specialist in complex ICT environments.
  • Expertise in ISM PSPF and IRAP processes with a deep understanding of Australian Government security policies.
  • Experience designing and securing Microsoftbased environments including Azure Office 365 Azure AD IaaS PaaS and SaaS.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to explain security concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work in agile teams and collaborate effectively with crossfunctional stakeholders.
  • Australian Citizenship is required.
  • Baseline Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one).

Desirable Criteria:

  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills to drive cybersecurity best practices across large teams.
  • Experience in largescale government ICT environments.
  • Ability to develop and present security strategies and roadmaps.

Location: Canberra preferred open to major Australian cities.
